Summer is here! The sun is beating down, the temperatures are rising, the bees are buzzing, and swimming pools and lakes are filled with families and friends enjoying the cool and refreshing waters.I love this time of year! How about you? I have fond memories of sitting on the front porch with my Grandmother and drinking ice-cold tea. I remember chasing lightning bugs at dusk, and sipping on more delicious ice-cold tea. Sometimes we would add a lemon slice or a sprig of mint to our tea, and other times we would simply pour it over ice, and talk the night away.
June is National Iced Tea Month, and at SHINEWORTHY TEA, we enjoy serving a wide variety of our tea selection over ice. We like to serve it “James Bond Style” – shaken, not stirred. For iced tea, we place 2 perfect teaspoons of loose -leaf tea in a Magic Tea Maker and allow it to steep for approximately five (5) minutes. Then we fill a cocktail shaker with ice and pour the freshly steeped tea over the ice, cover and shake vigorously until the outside of the shaker is frosted over. We then pour the ice-cold tea into a glass filled with more ice, add a garnish if you choose, and serve an amazing glass of iced tea.
In celebration of National Iced Tea Month, why not create your own memories with your family and friends by enjoying a delicious and refreshing pitcher or glass of iced tea? There are many varieties and flavors to try. One of our most popular white iced teas is Tropical Paradise. It has a smooth flavor with passion fruit and mango. On a hot day, it is most refreshing. Dragon Boat Black is a classic Chinese black tea that really refreshes. Vanilla Peach is a black tea that invites true summertime bliss when served over ice. Cherry Blossom is a Fine Japanese green tea, blended with rose petals and a slight sweet essence of cherry. Just like all the others mentioned here, Cherry Blossom is one of our most popular iced teas. Also included in this list is one my favorites – Claireberry. It is beautiful in color (deep pink) and is a delicious and refreshing herbal blend, consisting of dried apples, strawberries, kiwi, hibiscus, rose-petals, and orange peel.
Life is so busy, and we seem to be running from one place to the next at a rapid pace most of the time. I invite you to take some time to slow down and create memories that will last a lifetime during this summertime season. Celebrate National Iced Tea Month with some delicious iced tea, while watching the fireflies, smelling the flowers, sitting on the porch, splashing in the water, basking in the sun. Let every cup take you to a place of enjoyment!
